From Browning to Babb
When traveling east through Browning, Montana, I tell my guests heading to the StoneHouse, to take a left at the third stop light onto Hwy 464 known by the locals as the Duck Lake Road.
(A large red and white concrete tepee will be you landmark)
Enjoy one of Montana’s premier back country roads, Hwy 464 stretches from Browning to Highway 89 which connects Babb to St. Mary’s. Enjoy the views of the Cut Bank Plains and Glacier National Park on this scenic 35 mile journey.
From Browning, the Duck Lake Road spills out on to the open prairie, making its way up and over large coulees and bluffs along the Rocky Mountain Front and Glacier National Park. The views of Glacier are spectacular to the west and the open grass lands and rolling hills are a reminder of what Montana used to look like back in the day when the Blackfeet and the Buffalo roamed free.
At around the 25 mile marker, travelers will come to a sweeping 90 degree left hand turn heading straight for the the Glacier National Park. The view at the top of the hill is spectacular and definitely a photo opportunity!
At our sign take a right onto West Shore Dr. WELCOME TO THE STONEHOUSE!
