About Us

Owner with Goose Lake Cutthroat

Goose Lake Cutthroat

This homestead was inspired by our love of  Montana’s east side with its big sky open plains nestled against the rugged beauty and grandeur of  Glacier’s Rocky Mountains.

After a decade of living in a small travel trailer, we decided to “prove-up” like the old homesteaders and build our own place.

After finishing the project, I realized that this magical place was far too special to be selfish with, so I set out to share it with other adventure travelers and sojourners.

There are not a lot of lodging options over here that aren’t geared toward the summer tourists. I wanted to create a different yet intimate lodging experience for family and friends to gather.  I like to say –

It’s the last best place in the last best place.

It is our little Montana oasis tucked somewhere off the back country road of Montana Hwy 464 – The Duck Lake Road – and we hope you come visit us soon!
